Join St. David’s on-the-Hill for Holy Week 2021

As we enter Holy Week and look ahead to celebrating the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday, St. David’s on-the-Hill will hold the following services:

Palm Sunday, March 28:

Morning Prayer service, including the reading of the Passion Gospel, will be available on the Videos page and the St. David’s YouTube channel at 9 a.m.

Palms will be available for pickup from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will be in a basket at the bench under the portico. Please observe all COVID-19 precautions when picking up palms.

Special thanks to Mother Susan at St. Mark’s in Warwick for blessing our palms this year.

Maundy Thursday, April 1

A reflection by Sue Hurn will be available on the Videos page and the St. David’s YouTube channel at noon.

We also invite you to join the Washington National Cathedral for Maundy Thursday service, including the stripping of the altar, at 7 p.m.

The Watch:

You are invited to participate in this year’s “at home Watch” by signing up for an hour (or more) of prayer in your home between 8 p.m. on Thursday and 6 a.m. on Friday so that we’re praying and “keeping watch” through the night into morning.

Pray in your own way and know that our church family is praying together as we prepare our hearts for Good Friday and the celebration of Easter. We are also planning a slide show for participants to use as a meditative resource.

If you would like to join the Watch, please send an email with your name and the time you plan to attend the Watch to Grace Malaby at spock4ever@aol.com

Good Friday, April 2:

At 7 p.m. we will hold a Stations of the Cross service via Zoom. More information, including the Zoom link, will be in the eLamp.

Holy Saturday, April 3:

Join the National Cathedral for Easter Vigil morning prayer at 7 a.m. and for an Easter Vigil Coffee Hour at 8:30 p.m. [registration required].

We look forward to holding our Easter Vigil in person in 2022.

Easter Sunday, April 4:

St. David’s Easter Morning Prayer service will begin online at 9 a.m. Watch the Facebook page and eLamp for more information.
