Dear Saints of St. David’s:
Thanks to everyone who joined us for Virtual Morning Prayer Service this past Sunday, and to the dedicated worship team who continue to contribute their time and effort to maintain this vital ministry.
Over the last several months, and like so many other facets of our lives in this time of COVID-19, our online presence has become the way that our parish family gathers in God’s presence and shares the Word of Christ.
We will continue to join in praise every Sunday online, and our ongoing work to upgrade the equipment in the sanctuary will result in even higher-quality video and audio broadcasts of our services.
This Sunday, Aug. 23, we are planning a Virtual Coffee Hour, beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Zoom. Please watch for your email invitation later this week.
I would also like to update you on our parish conversation regarding when we may reopen the church for worship. At this time, there are no plans to host in-person services at St. David’s, due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19.
Our Executive Committee has been considering and discussing the many factors that go into making this decision, including our current lack of clergy who would officiate a Eucharist service; Cranston’s COVID-19 infection rate; Diocesan, state, and federal health guidelines; the costs related to safely reopening the building; and, most importantly, the health and safety of our parishioners.
The committee will continue to discuss all of these issues, and will host a Virtual Community Forum on Re-Opening on Sept. 2 from 7 to 8 p.m. via Zoom where you can offer your thoughts and ideas.
As this conversation continues, I will offer regular updates by email, Facebook, and the eLAMP.
Please remember: The only 100-percent accurate information about St. David’s will be provided through these channels. If you have any questions, please refer to the emails, eLAMPs, and Facebook posts that are published by the church.
I realize that we are in an uncertain time, and that conversations can often turn to speculation and gossip.
My promise to you, as Senior Warden, is to provide you with the most comprehensive and factual information available, and I ask that you help me in this effort by referring anyone with questions to the information published by the church.
Thank you for your patience and understanding through this challenging time of transition, and please continue to hold our parish family in your prayers.
Love and Blessings,
Linda
Prayer for the Parish
Almighty and everliving God, ruler of all things in heaven and earth, hear our prayers for this parish family. Strengthen the faithful, arouse the careless, and restore the penitent. Grant us all things necessary for our common life, and bring us all to be of one heart and mind within your holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
